The All New Discovery was launched on Friday 23 June 2017 at the Queen’s Birthday Party held at the British Ambassador, Ms Catriona Laing’s residence in Greendale, Harare. As has become the tradition, Premier Auto Services was one of the two main sponsors of this event. The event was attended by more than 400 colourful guests from across the economic and social spectrum of society including reputable motoring journalists. The Guest of Honour was the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Honourable Edgar Mbwembwe.
The theme of the Queen’s Birthday celebrations was Technology, Innovation and Creativity which dovetailed with what the new Discovery offers. Our two guests from JLR were Lazola Qungwana, Regional Business Manager who stood in for Victoria Asante who was away on another assignment and Andrew Blane from Experience. Two new Discoveries were on display and were unveiled. After the General Manager, Manfred Chaniwa welcomed guests and gave them a brief run-down of what the guests had come to witness, Andrew Blane then took the guests on a brief explanation of what the new model was all about and its capabilities. This was well received.
Immediately after that two units were unveiled by glamorous models to thunderous applause from all gathered. The British Ambassador, Ms Laing and the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Honourable Edgar Mbwembwe accompanied by the Premier Auto Services Chairman were the first to view the vehicle. After that, guests were then taken through the vehicles by the Lifestyle Consultants assisted by Andrew Blane.
Comments and feedback received from invited guests was very positive with leads generated now being followed through by the sales team. Post launch, a number of activities have been plannd to generate awareness and interest in the new Discovery.
There has been good coverage in the media post launch with rave reviews being published in all the mainstream papers. In addition, radio interviews on radio are planned to fully support the brad.
Al in all this was a successful event which met the objectives planned on the day. There is a lot to do post launch to ensure the volumes come through.
